If you attempt to run the AVTECH Device Discovery utility but it doesn’t launch, you likely need to modify its privileges in Windows to let you run it as an administrator.<\/p>\n

  1. In Windows, navigate to the ‘AVTECH Device Discovery.exe’ program file. The default installation path is C:\\Program Files\\AVTECH Device Discovery Utility.<\/li>\n
  2. Right click on the file, and select Properties<\/strong> from the menu that appears.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Note that the right-click menu also has a ‘Run As Administrator’ option towards the top. You may select this option if you’d like to launch it only this time as an administrator. Selecting this option does not permanently modify the privileges.<\/em><\/p>\n

    1. In the AVTECH Device Discovery Utilities Properties<\/em> window, select the Compatibility<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n
    2. Locate the Privilege Level<\/em> section at the bottom of the tab.\n

      1. Fill in the check box for Run this program as an administrator<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      2. Select OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
