When configuring new users, you have the choice of three user roles, each with its own level of access to the software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information, please see the tabs below.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"su-accordion su-u-trim\">\n\n\n<div class=\"su-spoiler su-spoiler-style-fancy su-spoiler-icon-plus su-spoiler-closed\" data-anchor=\"types\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\" data-anchor-in-url=\"no\"><div class=\"su-spoiler-title\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\"><span class=\"su-spoiler-icon\"><\/span>Types of user roles<\/div><div class=\"su-spoiler-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\n\n\n\n<p>There are three types of user roles available in Room Alert Manager: <em>Administrator<\/em>, <em>Manager <\/em>and <em>Viewer<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Administrator<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An administrator&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>has full access to all features and settings within Room Alert Manager<\/li><li>can see all discovered devices<\/li><li>can configure all items in <em>Alerts<\/em>, <em>Actions, Sensor Data &amp; Reports, <\/em>and <em>Settings<\/em><\/li><li>can manage any other user&#8217;s login in the following ways:<ul><li>reset their password<\/li><li>disable multi-factor authentication<\/li><li>unlock users after excessive failed login attempts<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A manager&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>can see any devices within their assigned device group<\/li><li>can edit\/configure alerts and data groups associated with devices from their assigned device group<ul><li><strong>cannot<\/strong> view alerts or data groups for devices outside of their assigned device group<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>has limited access to Room Alert Manager settings<ul><li>can create\/delete viewer-level users<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>can edit\/configure device groups below their top-level group<\/li><li><strong>cannot <\/strong>access other settings<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Viewer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A viewer&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>can see any devices within their assigned device group<\/li><li>can view alerts and data groups associated with devices from their assigned device group<ul><li><strong>cannot<\/strong> view alerts or data groups for devices outside of their assigned device group<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>has<strong> read-only <\/strong>access to user settings and group settings<ul><li><strong>cannot <\/strong>access other settings<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>can edit their own user profile (including their password and temperature scale) but cannot edit their own user role<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"su-spoiler su-spoiler-style-fancy su-spoiler-icon-plus su-spoiler-closed\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\" data-anchor-in-url=\"no\"><div class=\"su-spoiler-title\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\"><span class=\"su-spoiler-icon\"><\/span>Edit the default user profile<\/div><div class=\"su-spoiler-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\n\n\n\n<p>Follow these steps to edit the default user profile in Room Alert Manager:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Open Room Alert Manager in your web browser.<ul><li>You may open it by entering \u2018localhost:9393\u2019 or \u2018&lt;IP address of host system>:9393\u2019 in your browser\u2019s address bar. It cannot contain any blank spaces.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><em>Name<\/em>: Enter the user&#8217;s first and last name. <\/li><\/ul><ul><li><em>Email<\/em> (Optional): If you&#8217;d like, enter the user&#8217;s email address, so that you may easily configure alerts to be sent to them.<\/li><li><em>Temperature<\/em>: Select the desired temperature scale from the drop-down list. The default scale is Fahrenheit.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li><em>Role<\/em>: Select the desired user role from the drop-down menu.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Then select the <strong>Add User<\/strong> button.<br><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"99\" height=\"47\" class=\"wp-image-20157\" style=\"width: 99px;\" src=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/RAM_AddUserButton.png\" alt=\"\"><\/li><li>A one-time token gets generated that this user can enter later to configure their password.<br><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"662\" height=\"343\" class=\"wp-image-21980\" style=\"width: 350px;\" src=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/RAM_NewUserToken.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/RAM_NewUserToken.png 662w, https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/RAM_NewUserToken-300x155.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 662px) 100vw, 662px\" \/><ul><li>Copy this user token somewhere so that you may share it with the new user later on.<\/li><li>Then select <strong>Done<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>The new user will now appear in your <em>Users<\/em> list.<br><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1098\" height=\"412\" class=\"wp-image-21982\" style=\"width: 600px;\" src=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/RAM_NewMgrUser.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/RAM_NewMgrUser.png 1098w, https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/RAM_NewMgrUser-300x113.png 300w, https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/RAM_NewMgrUser-1024x384.png 1024w, https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/RAM_NewMgrUser-768x288.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1098px) 100vw, 1098px\" \/><\/li><li>Share the user token with the new user so that they may configure their password and login.
