MAC Address<\/span>Serial Number<\/span><\/div>

A MAC address is a 12-character alphanumeric ID, typically divided into 6 sets of 2 characters, as shown below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may need the MAC address of your Room Alert Monitor to perform certain tasks, such as advanced discovery in Room Alert software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MAC address of your Room Alert monitor appears in several places:<\/p>\n\n\n

<\/span>On a sticker on the bottom of the unit<\/div>
\n\n\n\n

If you have physical access to the unit, the best way to find the MAC address is by locating it on the sticker on the bottom of the unit, as shown below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note that on Room Alert MAX Base Stations<\/strong>, the MAC address is not printed on the unit’s sticker (only its Serial Number is printed on the sticker.)<\/p>\n\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

If you don\u2019t have physical access to the unit, the next place to look for the MAC address is on the Status<\/em> or Readings <\/em>page of the Room Alert Monitor\u2019s web interface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may access this page by typing the device’s IP address directly into your browser’s URL.

You may find the MAC address of a discovered device in the Room Alert Discovery utility’s list of discovered devices. You may open the utility by navigating to Start\u2192 AVTECH Room Alert Discovery<\/strong> in Windows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MAC address appears in Device Discovery\u2019s MAC Address<\/em> column. You may open Device Discovery typically at its default path of C:\\Program Files\\AVTECH Device Discovery Utility or C:\\Program Files (x86)\\AVTECH Device Discovery Utility. Once the program is open, select Search <\/strong>to bring up a list of discovered devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Room Alert Monitor\u2019s serial number is composed of a 3- to 4-character model code, a hyphen and either a 5- to 6-digit number or an alphanumeric string matching the last 6 characters of the MAC address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
