Use the <strong>&lt;<\/strong> and <strong>><\/strong> icons in the table&#8217;s upper right corner to navigate between pages of list items. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(Optional) You can also configure your MAX Base Station to trigger an alert if your sensor stops reporting new data or reports a Low battery level. You may also type the IP address of the unit directly into the address bar of your web browser.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>Settings<\/strong>\u00a0in the navigation bar to the left.<br><em>If you&#8217;re working with a Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi, select <strong>Alert Options <\/strong>at the top of the page.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This will open the <strong>Sensor Settings<\/strong> page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Here, you can configure thresholds for internal &amp; external digital sensors and set the <em>Alarm On<\/em> value for switch sensors.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-not-stacked-on-mobile is-layout-flex wp-container-3\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:5%\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:95%\">\n<ul><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Digital Sensors<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>In the example below, we will configure a Digital Temperature Sensor:<br><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"554\" height=\"126\" class=\"wp-image-12177\" style=\"width: 450px;\" src=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/RA_Settings_Sensors_DigitalSensorConfig.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/RA_Settings_Sensors_DigitalSensorConfig.png 554w, https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/RA_Settings_Sensors_DigitalSensorConfig-300x68.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 554px) 100vw, 554px\" \/>\n<ul>\n<li>In Sensor Label, you may leave the default label, \u201cInternal Sensor\u201d (or \u201cExt. Sensor 1,\u201d\u00a0etc.) or rename it to something more descriptive, such as \u201cServer Rm Temp.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In <em>High<\/em> and <em>Low<\/em>, you may leave the default, 0, or enter values for high and low\u00a0temperature thresholds. Shown below are the default settings.<br><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"371\" height=\"203\" class=\"wp-image-12178\" style=\"width: 275px;\" src=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/RA_Settings_Sensors_SwitchSenConfig.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/RA_Settings_Sensors_SwitchSenConfig.png 371w, https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/RA_Settings_Sensors_SwitchSenConfig-300x164.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 371px) 100vw, 371px\" \/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your Room Alert monitors your switch sensors for an \u201cOpen\u201d or \u201cClosed\u201d circuit state.&nbsp;Room Alert defaults to alarming on \u201cClosed,\u201d as you can see above; you may, however,&nbsp;need to change that depending on your sensor. AVTECH\u2019s Motion Sensor, for example, is&nbsp;\u201cOpen\u201d when it detects movement and \u201cClosed\u201d when it doesn\u2019t; in that case, you\u2019d likely&nbsp;want to configure the sensor to alarm on \u201cOpen\u201d or when motion is detected.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To determine the alarm and clear state of your sensor, you may either refer to its&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/3598\/product-manuals-installation-notes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Installation Note<\/a> or check our Frequently Asked Question, <a href=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/205\/open-closed-states-mean-avtech-switch-sensors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">What Open &amp; Closed States&nbsp;Mean In AVTECH Switch Sensors<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After you\u2019ve checked what \u201cOpen\u201d and \u201cClosed\u201d mean on your switch sensor, configure the following options:<br><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"371\" height=\"203\" class=\"wp-image-12178\" style=\"width: 275px;\" src=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/RA_Settings_Sensors_SwitchSenConfig.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/RA_Settings_Sensors_SwitchSenConfig.png 371w, https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/RA_Settings_Sensors_SwitchSenConfig-300x164.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 371px) 100vw, 371px\" \/>\n<ul>\n<li>In <em>Sensor Label<\/em>, you may leave the default, \u201cSwitch 1\u201d (2, 3 or 4) or enter something\u00a0more descriptive, such as \u201cExt Motion\u201d or \u201cMain Entry.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In <em>Alarm On<\/em>, select the alarm state (Open or Closed). In our example, the alarm\u00a0state is <strong>Open<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li><em>If you\u2019re not using a switch port, choose <strong>Disabled<\/strong> from the Alarm On drop-down menu to avoid confusion or false alerts.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"su-note\"  style=\"border-color:#bcc3cd;border-radius:5px;-moz-border-radius:5px;-webkit-border-radius:5px;\"><div class=\"su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\" style=\"background-color:#d6dde7;border-color:#ffffff;color:#305d8c;border-radius:5px;-moz-border-radius:5px;-webkit-border-radius:5px;\">\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re using a light tower or relay, you can find information about configuring each sensor&#8217;s\u00a0Alarm Profile in our FAQ,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/11018\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">How To Configure Light Tower Or Relay Alarm Profiles In Your Room Alert Monitor<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li>When you&#8217;re done setting your sensor thresholds, select <strong>Save Setting<\/strong>s. Your Room Alert will automatically\u00a0reboot and commit your changes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"su-spoiler su-spoiler-style-fancy su-spoiler-icon-plus su-spoiler-closed\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\" data-anchor-in-url=\"no\"><div class=\"su-spoiler-title\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\"><span class=\"su-spoiler-icon\"><\/span>Finally, test your alerts.<\/div><div class=\"su-spoiler-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\n\n\n\n<p>Trigger an alert, and check that you receive the expected alert notification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For an external temperature sensor, for example, you can hold the sensor probe in your hand to warm it above the <em>High<\/em> temperature threshold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another option is to save a High threshold that is below the sensor&#8217;s current reading. When the unit reboots, the sensor will immediately be in alarm state, which will cause the Room Alert Monitor to send an alert notification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Please note that if you then save a new High threshold that&#8217;s above the current reading, this will not cause the Room Alert to send a clear notification.
